Graham Sahara - Ibiza, Spain
Name: Graham Sahara
Location: Ibiza, Spain
Occupation: Resident Dj @ Pacha And Km5, Label Manager Seamless Recordings, Radio Presenter Ibiza Global Radio
I am a resident DJ at Pacha here on the beautiful sunny island that is IBIZA! I´ve been working here as a DJ for the last 15 years and have played/visited pretty much every venue here. Almost everyone in the world knows about this island, and much has been said about it already, I am going to be giving you all the insider info as to what’s hot, what’s new and the general low down on all things Ibiza style.
The tracks currently big here on the island would be:
1. Solomun - He Is Watching You (Supernature)
2. Audiojack - Get Serious (2020 Vision)
3. Nicc Johnson & Beatmaster G - Tell Me Something (Aki Bergen Mix) (Seamless Deep)
4. M.A.N.D.Y, Booka Shade - Home (Kollektiv Turmstrasse Mix) (Get Physical Music)
5. DJ Wild - For Your Play (Jordan Peak Mix) (Jonk Records)
International DJ Scene:
The International DJs that have been here, have been here for New Year, with both Pacha and DC10 opening their doors. Pacha had resident DJs Angel Linde and Tuccillo opening up in their classy deep and sexy style before Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike turned up the heat with their trademark energetic electro and progressive house sound. Then, on New Years Day, DC10 opened its doors with Circo Loco putting on the party, and it would appear most of the island took the opportunity to visit one of their favourite haunts. The line-up boasted international artists such as Dan Ghenacia, Cirillo, D´Julz, The Martinez Bros and DJ Wild, as well as local heroes Willie Graff and Tato. The music could be heard for miles around, and the many of the people who went have declared that that maybe the best Circo Loco party ever held there.
2011 In Review:
What was your music highlight of 2011?
For me, my musical highlight would be the return of the more classic house sound that has been recreated by Jamie Jones and Maceo Plex etc. They have slowed down the BPMs, added vocals and made it all a lot more sexy and groovy.
What was the big party of 2011?
The best for me would be Luciano´s Vagabundos. He brought over some of the best talent around, ranging from people like Moodymann to Martinez. The crowd was always up for it and the music was mind blowing, a good time guaranteed.
If you could see any DJ this year, who would it be? Why?
For me, I would personally like to watch Maceo Plex play. I really rate his productions and would be very interested to see what style he plays in his live sets.
What are you looking forward to in 2012?
New music, new adventures, and old friends seen once again in the summer.
What are your New Year’s resolutions?
Well, to try and behave myself a bit more! Not sure how it will work out once the summer returns!
I´ve just returned from playing for the headlining parties for F*** I´m Famous in Santa Domingo, Domincan Republic and Pacha in Goa, India, both of which were rocking and a lot of fun. I have also just had the second installment of my night in Pacha Ibiza, where plenty of local faces came down, like DJs Sarah Main and Nano Vergel. For now I am concentrating on the studio as the time after New Years is normally the best time for me to get stuff done since I´m not touring so extensively. It will be a chance to do some follow up tracks for 2012 after having previous releases selling very well on Beatport, Traxsource and iTunes in 2011 and also being licenced for compilations like Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi.
I am looking forward to the latest Sondos release, Antranig - Spank It!. I really rate his productions, they are crisp and very clear and always a dancefloor banger. I love playing his productions as they get such a good response from the crowd and Spank It! is another bomb production from him. With driving synths and off beat percussion to get ya booty shaking, this is definitely aimed at the main floor. And if that wasn't good enough, its backed up with a remix from DJ Chus, which again is in his trademark style of driving tribal beats and percussion to create an excellent tech house tack for the floor.
