Hats off to Hardsoul’s Greg and Roog and Baggi Begovic for doggedly keeping the Dutch house flag flying through the trance years. Now teamed up in a new Dutch supergroup of sorts, the trio put together a neat little groove that incorporates the Hardsoul trademark of a detuned male spoken word part with a female topline and, of course, Baggi’s knack of turning out a neat groove. Robbie Taylor’s Iberican mix does that pure percussive beats thing in the Iberican manner and the surprise of the package is Amesz Melo’s House Rework a great effort that combines Eastern tinged melodies with irresistibly head-nodding tech rhythms.
