Undoubtedly the tune of 2010’s WMC and already an undisputed future house classic. Objektivity label don Dennis Ferrer has once again delivered a record of the highest order for the masses. Striking up over 3,350,000 combined YouTube views prompting Faith Fanzine to label Dennis as ‘The SuBo of Deep House’, ‘Hey Hey’ has dominated both the airwaves and club land for months, and now the time has arrived for Defected to deliver a stormer of a remix package.
So here we go… Spen & Karizma under their classic moniker the ‘Deepah Ones’ inject, if possible, even more soul with a class Baltimore rework. Karizma lets off an exclusive dub under his Kaytronic guise. Dim Chris delivers a synth driven re-rub while Tom De Neef drops slick interpretation adding a touch more power to the original mix. Crookers unleash a triplet arranged, twisted, bass driven gem; pure hedonism for the prime time that’s more than a little sinister, and to complete the package Vandalism go pedal to the metal, with a slice of Afro-house meets Electro-clash. Need we say more? I think not…..well, except for the pop-friendly Friscia & Lamboy Mix Show Edit, that is.
