FLEUR WOWS THE SOCIAL
Strictly’s new artist signing Fleur is used to a full band stage production as lead singer with DJ Fresh. But she faces the whites of her audience’s eyes at intimate central London venue The Social for her debut solo performance, with just her own voice and DJ Melody Kane on the decks behind her in support. Undeterred, she tears into her set with familiar energy, rattling through future single Turn The Lights On and the present Broken Mirror in quick succession. This pair offers a good taste of Fleur’s musical flavour; high energy dub step and bass influenced beats with effervescent vocals, poppy melodies and thoughtfully penned lyrics. She breaks the gaps with some confident banter and by the final two songs, Sunrise and Fallen, the crowd - a blend of music industry hob-nobbers, family and fans – is jumping, and drags her back for an encore which, her repertoire now exhausted, is an improvised acapella of Broken Mirror. The deal sealed, Fleur’s feel-good factor fills the room.
"Before the show I was really nervous because all the attention was suddenly on me! But as soon as I got out there and saw everyone's faces, I realised they were all there to support me and that gave me the boost I needed. I really enjoyed myself on stage and it was so rewarding to finally share my music and the songs I've written with everyone. The crowd reaction was very positive and it felt amazing on stage. Now I'm raring to get out there and share my music with the masses. I've been working on this a while now and it's about time I let my music be heard. Being on stage is such an overwhelming experience and I can't wait to do more!" Fleur
