It’s usually DJs and producers who grab all the plaudits in dance music. Artists have to make do with a featuring credit much of the time. But we’ve been lucky enough to host the careers of house legends like Barbara Tucker and Ultra Naté, so we’re chuffed to bits to announce that singer, songwriter and performer Fleur has penned a new artist deal with Strictly Rhythm.

Hailing from Walthamstow, London, Fleur has been singing almost since she could walk and is currently performing as lead singer on the high profile DJ Fresh tour FRESH: LIVE! as well as co-writing and fronting the track Turn It Up on Fresh’s forthcoming album. She’s already been cramming in studio sessions between her hectic tour schedule, working with producers and songwriters Culture Shock, Jupiter Ace, Cutline, Will Simms, Tim Powell and White N3rd.

‘I've been experimenting with different musical genres because I like to explore’ explains Fleur. ‘I would describe my style as urban inspired with a twist. My ambition is to be the absolute best at what I do. I write and sing and would like to achieve the most I can by doing both. I want my music to be heard all over the world. I definitely believe that no dream is too big.’

Fleur’s first solo single Broken Mirror, produced by Cutline, will be released in August.
